Production Technician II - Header Trainee


Position Description

Responsible for training on and eventually running 2 Die, 3 Blow hot headers for on-size screw production in Cell 110. Responsibilities include:

  • Training and taking direction on the operation and set-up of 2-Die, 3-Blow hot headers in Cell 110

  • Production of on-size screw product that meet all drawing requirements and specifications

  • Ability to read part and tooling drawings / blue prints, perform dimensional measurements / calculations, and input dimensional data into SPC computer.

  • Participate in assuring tooling and material readiness with direction and training from Lead (assemble tooling set-up kits, stage raw materials and perform external setup tasks, as required)

  • Changing punches, dies, wire, and making / installing new heater coils

  • Perform machine inspections including daily, weekly and monthly preventative maintenance tasks as well as 5S / housekeeping duties in assigned areas.

  • Achieve productivity and quality targets as well as participate in continuous improvement activities

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-year experience required in a manufacturing work environment

  • Machines required; 2 Die 3 Blow National and Okuma Headers

  • Read and interpret part drawings, work instructions, policies and procedures

  • Must be able to use the necessary measuring tools (Micrometers, Calipers, Dial Indicators, Comparator, Gages, etc) as required

  • Must have good communication skills and know basic shop math

  • Must be able to read, write and understand English

  • Must be able to lift/move up to 30 lbs (may not exceed per EHS Policies)
