Our Cleveland operations located at 3960 South Marginal Road, is seeking an ABS Technician in the Tooling Business Center. This position is responsible for leading and supporting ABS efforts in the department working with the Manufacturing Manager, ABS Engineer, and tooling manufacturing personnel. This role may lead TPM events and is responsible for day-to-day TPM support activities including conducting audits and problem solving with operators and for leading 5-S activities in the department. This role acts independently requiring minimal supervision and direction

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with developing, implementation and auditing of TPM and 5-S related standardized work and training employees in standardized work practices.

  • Train and assist with all departmental TPM initiatives. Leads weekly TPM workshops with operators to identify issues, conduct problem solving to identify root cause, develops action plans for resolution and follows up on outstanding action items. Also responsible for TPM audit metrics and updating TPM Boards.

  • Participates in 5-S audits and weekly departmental walks with Tooling Manufacturing Manager. Schedules 5-S audits, ensures employees are following related standardized work and complies 5-S scoring for the department.

  • Participates in continuous improvement initiatives, such as Kaizens, problem solving sessions, for ABS activities such TPM and 5-S.

  • Supports ABS ASAT requirements.

  • Other responsibilities of the Tooling ABS Technician include:

  • General runner tasks such as moving material, assembly and painting of racks, marking (taping) of walkways and storage, making labels, etc.

  • Minor maintenance tasks

  • Providing back-up support for Tooling Shipping and Receiving department including: kitting and packing for New Hope, unpacking of cores, warehousing of raw materials, etc.

  • Ensure safe work practices and that all EHS policies and requirements are being followed. Additionally, all employees are expected to be actively engaged in the continuous improvement of safety practices in all areas of the facility.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) from an accredited institution

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment

  • This position is subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires US person status . ITAR defines US person as an US Citizen, US Permanent Resident (i.e. "Green Card Holder."), Political Asylee, or refugee. Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
