Infrastructure Specialist/Project Leader


Position Description

Arconic is currently in search of an Infrastructure Specialist-Project Leader to join our Global Rolled Products (GRP) HQ business unit in Davenport, IA.

The Infrastructure Specialist-Project Leader will support the overall Global Rolled Products (GRP) Smart manufacturing strategy by providing broad knowledge in computing infrastructure to deploy the optimal environment for our new applications hosted at Davenport and other plants. Partnering with our corporate Leveraged Managed Systems(LMS), Global Business Systems(GBS), GRP applications teams and location PCS teams to deliver creative, cost effective solutions.

Responsibilities :

  • Overall infrastructure deployment and support for manufacturing IS systems in GRP leveraging Corporate IS team expertise for system deployments.

  • Develop, manage, and execution of the IS infrastructure budget for manufacturing IS systems.

  • Manage GRP manufacturing infrastructure team; including staffing recommendations, assignment and prioritization of projects and tasks, coaching, training, performance management, and providing input into compensation decisions.

  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor infrastructure project activities to achieve goals within defined performance metrics.

  • Support some of the systems from an ‘hands on’ infrastructure role.

  • Ensure the team operates in compliance with all Arconic compliance standards.

  • Effectively utilize project methodology and tools to deliver solutions and communicate status.

  • Operate within and influences IS standards and conventions and promotes adherence within the IS organization.

  • Pursue continuous learning consistent with changes in technology, and uses this to influence IS direction.

  • Lead a team


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with project deployment

  • Minimum of 5 years’ Windows Systems administration.

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. persons status. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution.

  • Advanced degree

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications

  • IT experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong communication skills

  • SQL server, Microsoft BI, SharePoint, VMware
