Procurement Operations Manager
Primary Purpose of the Job
The Business Unit (BU) Plant Procurement lead develops and leads the BU Plant Procurement team.
The overall goal is to achieve the best total cost position for all external spend of the respective Business Unit plant, the lowest sourcing risks, best supplier performances and ensuring highest efficiency and effectiveness of the BU Plant Procurement team.
Ensures the optimal collaboration of BU Plant Procurement with BU Procurement Engineering as well as with Global Category Management and Regional Procurement to achieve best procurement results. Directly responsible for the BU Plant Procurement Key Performance Metrics and Savings Reduction Targets
Major Activities/Key challenges
Responsible for the relevant Plant Procurement Operations function
Leads Business Unit Strategic Buyers
Works in close conjunction and alignment with Business Unit Procurement Engineers
Shares savings targets with Category Management, Technical/Procurement Engineering, on Plant-specific spends
i.e. Performance areas: Cost Savings (SRT), Supplier performance, challenging of material & service specifications (demand management), procurement organizational efficiency
Monitors and controls BU plant financial target achievements and initiates counter measures if necessary
Communicates supplier issues to Business Unit Procurement Operations Director and Category Management
Participate in supplier meetings jointly with Category Lead if relevant for the Plant
Additional Plant Specfic Activity:
Supports Plant Operations - acts as key point liaison to the broader procurement organization
Attends Plant Meeting(s) and acts as business partner to guide location on procurement initiative and responds to the needs of the plant
Drives Spend Reduction Targets (SRT) at the plant and helps to lead the savings initiatives at assigned location by working with plant leadership and individuals that are accountable or supportive to cost reduction initiatives.
Drives accountability of supplier performance at the location and also supports the plants compliance and audits/database (ASAT) activity relative to procurement]
Minimum of 5 years' previous work experience in purchasing/procurement management.
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Supply Chain, Business Administration/Management, or Engineering from an accredited institution.
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
