Position Description

This opening is in Arconic Architectural Products in Eastman, GA. We are the leading manufacturer of an aluminum composite material known as Reynobond. Reynobond is primarily used in the commercial construction industry. Arconic Architectural Products (AAP) is part of Arconic’s global Building and Construction Systems (BCS) business unit, which manufactures and markets architectural systems and products in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

The Supply Chain Manager will oversee and direct the activity of the Supply Chain and Logistics/Shipping Department to ensure operational excellence in order promising, master scheduling, material delivery and input/output control to achieve exceptional performance to customer commitments.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and communicate cross functionally with Commercial, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Logistics/Shipping and Finance Departments to incorporate and maintain customer and business requirements into production planning;

  • Oversees all outsourced vendor activities to ensure coordination with and execution to the master schedule;

  • Develop and sustain strategic inventory management plan;

  • Set and maintain inventory levels;

  • Develop and sustain inventory controls;

  • Identify and implement necessary inventory stores and buffer while maintaining defined inventory targets;

  • Measure and communicate supplier delivery metrics, operations plan schedule attainment and master schedule attainment;

  • Initiates root cause problem solving to analyze variability and improve performance;

  • Design, measure and communicate metrics that track the effectiveness of production planning and manufacturing execution;

  • Coach and develop all members of the Supply Chain Department through training, mentoring and the development of consistent planning tools;

  • Develop and maintain tools that will provide visibility to shortages and prioritize requirements;

  • Analyze and troubleshoot problems in planning and execution, and generates alternatives to resolve both internal and external processing constraints;

  • Comply with all EHS rules required for the work environment;

  • Maintain high proficiency with Computer Software programs such as Microsoft Excel in order to build and maintain databases;

  • This position requires strong interpersonal and negotiation skills; self-starter skills; experience with querying databases; excellent complex analytical skills; and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and oral form.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Minimum of 3 years supply chain experience.

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution.

  • Prior Supply Chain Management experience.

  • APICS certified.

  • Experience using Lean manufacturing tools.

  • Proficiency in Excel, JD Edwards, and/or Oracle systems.
