Advanced Electrical Apprentice

At Arconic Massena Operations, Maintenance Electricians install, adjust, maintain, and troubleshoot machinery and plant equipment such as, power distribution, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, dust collection systems, conveyor systems, blowers, pumps, fans, air compressors and cranes, along with work on various types of production equipment including aluminum reduction cells and furnaces.
Proven electrical ability involving power distribution, lighting, machinery repair, PLC’s, motor controls, VFD’s, controls for hydraulic and pneumatic systems is required of all successful applicants.
Possess a high school degree or GED
Be willing to work any shift, including rotating shifts/weekends
Be able to show proof of work as an Electrician. Please submit proof with your resume of work in these areas:General Wiring, Installation of A.C. Wiring, Minor A.C. Motor and Appliance A.C. Repair, Three Phase Motor Repair, Industrial Electronics, Electrical Instrument Usage and other related Electrical Tools/Repair.
Be able to show proof of instruction related to becoming an Electrician from BOCES, or similar trade school or college.
Pass an entry-level exam as part of the hiring process. This includes the following: mathematics, reading, troubleshooting and problem solving, inspection and measurement, electrical aptitude and checking accuracy.
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Possess an excellent work history, preferably in a manufacturing environment
General Plant Electrician Journeyman papers are preferred.
