Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Asset Supervisor is responsible for the overall maintenance and reliability program of a specific area of operations at the Niles, Ohio facility.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Meets and updates maintenance operational standards by contributing maintenance information to strategic plans and reviews, and by implementing and adhering to production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards;
Leads, supervises, and monitors the hourly skilled trade employees in the execution of major repairs, overhauls, control of critical spare levels, and equipment shutdowns;
Plans, organizes, directs and oversees all aspects of predictive maintenance, preventive maintenance and repairs for an assigned area. May be required to establish new preventive maintenance programs and/or procedures, or predictive maintenance equipment, for new or existing equipment;
Evaluates functionality and reliability of systems and associated equipment by conferring with employees and management;
Maintains function and reliability of systems and associated equipment by maintaining the preventive maintenance program and work order system; operating and testing systems and equipment; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts;
Works closely with operations to ensure equipment is running efficiently and plan equipment outages for repairs in conjunction with Operations’ schedules;
Improves function and reliability of area systems and equipment by studying performance results; identifying, recommending, and implementing changes by trouble shooting equipment and processes, problem resolution and root cause analysis; recommends equipment modifications to improve reliability and reduce operating/maintenance cost;
Improves and maintains job knowledge of self, supervisors, and employees by becoming the area equipment subject matter expert while improving the competency of the mechanical and electrical technicians; identifies and closes knowledge gaps by obtaining external technical support and training;
Interfaces directly with vendors, contractors and technical support groups, as needed; ensures compliance with Plant regulations (such as Tungsten control);
Researches and purchases parts and equipment while staying within budget;
Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing company policies and procedures; complying with legal codes and regulations, follows contractual language, and issues discipline in conjunction with Human Resources;
Ensures required cleanliness, organization, and control of tools, parts, and maintenance equipment in all maintenance locations (personnel areas, storage areas, etc.) within assigned plant area of operations;
Partners with Area Operations Managers and Operations Supervisors to improve/develop cleanliness (6S) programs to improve reliability of equipment and meet housekeeping quality standards;
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
HS Diploma or GED from an accredited institution;
Minimum 5 years of supervisory and/or management experience in a manufacturing environment;
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution;
Seven (7) or more years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably metals and union environment.
Five (5) or more years of mechanical and/or electrical experience, hydraulics and pneumatics, welding, electronic drives, equipment controls, and PLCs.
Possess excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, including reading and updating electrical and mechanical schematics and test instruments;
Demonstrated leadership experience successfully managing multiple tasks and prioritizing workload, while paying attention to detail;
Ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, employee relations, quality, productivity and cost;
Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced union manufacturing environment while building a highly effective team;
Forging and rolling mill experience;
Intermediate to Advanced skill level in Microsoft Office. Experience with SAP a plus.
