Position Description

This position enhances attorney and paralegal effectiveness by providing comprehensive administrative, organizational and legal matter management services and support. The incumbent works closely with a cross-section of 10 – 14 legal professionals and staff providing quality administrative services, support and organizational efficiencies for the legal organization. This position provides support covering a diverse group of legal professionals in various practice areas including Commercial / Employment & Labor / Litigation / Intellectual Property, etc. practice area and acts as a liaison between the attorneys and paralegals to clients and others as may be required.

This role will also provide administrative support to the Manager – Administration and Support Services and assist in the legal organizations programs, activities and initiatives. The incumbent will work closely with principals on various departmental and corporate initiatives and projects as assigned. The incumbent will collaborate with administrative services team and legal professionals and provide back-up support for administrative team members; as well as assist with balancing work overflow and meeting critical deadlines due to business demands.

A high level of organization, human relations and communication skills are required. Incumbent must develop knowledge of principals’ area of responsibility and a familiarity with primary customers. In order to meet all deadlines, incumbent must have the ability to accomplish a high volume of diverse tasks in a fast-paced environment and adapt easily to changing priorities for approximately 10 - 14 principals. Strong organization skills are required in order to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. Overtime hours may be required when deadline conditions exist.

Incumbent must have a broad range of administrative and data management skills, as well as demonstrated technical knowledge in various computer applications. Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.

Excellent communications skills, both oral and written, are essential. The incumbent will be in contact with key internal and external customers at all levels. Discretion is critical in handling sensitive and confidential information, as well as skill in dealing with people. Incumbent must demonstrate expertise in grammar, punctuation, and spelling.

A high level of engagement, self-motivation, discipline and professionalism is expected. Incumbent must be able to function with minimal supervision and is expected to take independent action in performing job responsibilities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Three years of Administrative work experience.

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications
