Position Description

Arconic Engines has an opening for a Heat Treat Operator to load and unload our furnaces and maintain the heat treating process and uniformity of our products. This position is based in our Rochester, NY facility; and candidates should be willing and able to work 2nd shift (5:00 am to 5:00 pm).

  • Requires specific knowledge of general heat treat requirements for titanium, nickel based alloys, and stainless steels.

  • Use proper heat treat scheduling to ensure proper sequence for product through heat-treating cycles.

  • Load and unload furnaces.

  • Responsible for heat-treat and process furnace accuracy and uniformity surveys.

  • Must be familiar with the operation, adjustment and routine maintenance of all furnace controllers.

  • Work with the computer to analyze the furnace charting program data being generated by each furnace

  • Enter and track data in MS Excel spreadsheet, able to read and interpret production paperwork to understand each job's printed work instructions

  • Complete all required paperwork including, but not limited to, furnace maps, furnace charts, work orders and travelers, maintaining all required traceability standards

  • Conduct Brinnell Hardness testing when needed

  • Operate Forklift in Manufacturing facility to OSHA standards within the last 3 years

  • Perform general duty labor as required, be shift flexible and work overtime as needed

  • Ability to repetitively lift parts up to 30 lbs on and off pallets

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not a available for this position.
