Position Description

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining plant equipment. This Position requires basic understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and the ability to read and understand blueprints.

Major Activities/Key challenges:

  • The incumbent recognizes that accident and injury prevention are equal in importance to production, quality, delivery, recovery and cost control.The incumbent accepts the responsibility to work safely and promote safety consciousness among other employees.

  • Operate mobile equipment including forklift, manlift, scissorlift, and overhead cranes.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize to ensure minimum interruption to process.

  • Welds and uses a cutting torch.

  • Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and makes repairs or improvements as needed.

  • Operates mobile equipment including forklift, manlift, scissorlift, and overhead cranes to complete job assignments.

  • Multi-task job function that includes assisting electricians and operators as necessary.

  • Requires using precision instruments to align and take measurements of equipment that is being modified or installed.

  • Own set of basic hand tools.

  • Ability to make decisions on equipment repairs and be self motivated.

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time; walk; use stairs and ladders; use hands and arms to reach, handle, or manipulate equipment or materials. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 30 pounds, and be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to work within extreme cold/hot temperatures. Employee must be willing to work a rotating shift schedule.

Ability to use hand tools. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. The employee must be able to work within extreme cold/hot temperatures. Ability to pass a physical for use of a respirator and/or driving mobile equipment. Job requires annual or random drug screenings.

Basic Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school/GED,

  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience in an industrial environment,

  • Working knowledge of all or some of the following: Hydraulics, Pneumatics, HVAC, Electrical/Electronic Circuits, PLC’s, Machining Experience, Welding, Wire Installation/Termination, Mobile Equipment Operation and Repair.

Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Related Field.

  • Predictive Maintenance or Condition Based Monitoring Experience and Certifications: (Infrared, Vibration Analysis, Ultrasonic Emissions, Machine Lubrication, Non-Destructive Testing, etc).

  • Computer Skills including Microsoft Office and Predictive Maintenance Tracking Software.

  • Demonstrated commitment to employee involvement, participative management, and continuous improvement.

  • Quality Systems, Specifications, and Procedures.
