With minimum supervision from supervisor and lead, sets up, operates and troubleshoots single cold heading machine and will be trained multi-die cold heading machines to produce parts consistent with print specifications. Checks parts intermittently to assure adherence to specified dimensions.
With minimum supervision and assistance makes complete set up within standard time per router on all cold heading machines, selects, mounts, and adjusts proper punches and die sets; assembles dies and punches using a Hydraulic press; sets machine speeds, feeds, and stop
Works from work orders, heading part prints and machine layouts
Work with various types of materials such as Titanium, Inconel, 4130, 17-4 and other stainless steel
Recognizes improper machine functioning and/or tooling problems and takes necessary action
Perform Lock/Out Tag/Out (LOTO)
Run multiple machines as required
Perform first piece verification process per part print as required
Performs daily 5s on work area and equipment
Perform Preventative Maintenance per daily schedule
Active involvement in AM Bright and process improvement initiatives
Understand and perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) as required
Performs other duties as assigned to meet facility goals
Follow all EHS Policies, Procedures and report all incidents immediately
Must be familiar with Daily Management Board
Must be familiar with Human Performance tasks
Will assist Forming Tech II on Multi Die Headers
Must know basic troubleshooting skills
Read and interpret part drawings, work instructions, policies and procedures
Must be able to use the necessary measuring tools (Micrometers, Calipers, Dial Indicators, Comparator, Gages, etc) as required
Must be LTV (Lock Tag Verified) Authorized
Must have good communication skills and know basic shop math
Must be able to read, write, and understand English
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
Must have high school diploma or trade school or equivalent work experience
Must have minimum of 4 years' of experience and/or have successfully completed the Header Apprentice Program
