Master Scheduler / Planner
Arconic Fastening Systems is looking for a Master Scheduler/Planner to develop and maintain ongoing production plans, ensuring the product supply meets customer demand. This role will also ensure that the plan is consistent with business objectives and designed to maximize customer service and minimize inventory investment (capacity concepts are understood). The Master Scheduler/Planner will guide everyone in their product line to achieve the goals of customer service, lead time, cost, productivity, overtime, and profit margin. This position is located at our aerospace plant in Torrance, CA.

Update daily shipment numbers in production plan
Release work order packages to shop floor
Check material & component shortages and create requisitions in Oracle & QAD
Liaison with customer service; resolve customer service issues with follow-ups, expedited orders, past dues
Set priorities at shop floor to ensure department goals are met
Daily/Weekly review of customer demand
Monitor forecasts for accuracy
Monthly meeting with Manufacturing Managers to update ACPT Lead-time system
Monthly Review Backlog vs Available Materials/Components/Finished goods
Daily monitoring of Work in Process
Conduct daily production meeting with shop floor personnel
Daily new order ads review
Responsible for assuring that the promised dates booked to the customer are attained
Manage inventory levels
Interface with Purchasing, Engineering, Sales & shop personnel
Update and maintain accurate planning information in MRP System
Review capacity on machines via MRP System
Keep due dates updated on system. (COP, QAD)
Must be capable of running Master level plans from QAD
Develop rough cut capacity plans
Manage planning work benches
Participate in monthly S&OP meetings
Provide guidance for new employee development and growth in the department
Review all past dues in detail and understanding their Root Cause
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with outside customers and employees. Fluent in English; read, write, and speak. Second language is a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well with the customer and with employees in all functional areas (production, product management, engineering, etc.)
Excellent computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office suite; proficiency with advanced Excel functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP; experience with ERP/MRP systems.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Institution
Minimum 5 years of MRP Systems experience and/or Planning experience in manufacturing
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Experience in the aerospace or other regulated industry
Experience with advanced Excel skills such as pivot tables, goal seek, and macros
Prefer 8+ years of MRP systems experience and/or Planning experience in manufacturing
Familiarity and understanding of various inventory management programs such as Forecasts, JIT, Min/Max, etc.
Knowledge of Shop Routings and Bill of Materials basics
Understanding of 5S principals; Sort, Simplify, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain
Experience with QAD MRP system is a plus
APICS Certification (CPIM or CIRM)
