Arconic Fastening Systems(AFS) is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and refine manufacturing processes for a high precision product line. This position is located at the AFS aerospace fastener plant in Tucson, AZ.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain material specifications, product drawings, routing sheets and manufacturing procedures of the assigned product

  • Provide analysis and assists with capital equipment justifications.

  • Assist in getting new capital “on line”.

  • Create or revise plant layouts.

  • Design and debug manufacturing processes and tooling for headers, rollers, drillers etc.

  • Ensure continuous improvement of tooling and manufacturing methods.

  • Assist in reduction of set-up time.

  • Partner with production technicians or other departments to enhance manufacturing processes, troubleshoot issues and provide technical guidance.

  • Assist in determination of root cause of problems.

  • Support ISO9000/D1-9000 implementation.

  • Help to ensure that quality and standards for the department are adhered to and maintained.

  • Assume other special activities and responsibilities from time to time as required.

  • Adhere to Arconic EH&S, Quality, Continuous Improvement and other Company Policies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Institution

  • Minimum 3 years of Engineering experience in Manufacturing

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prefer the Bachelor’s Degree is in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering

  • 3 years of Engineering experience in Manufacturing

  • Engineering experience in the Aerospace industry

  • Engineering experience in a metal working industry

  • Experience in the fastener industry

  • Experience and proficiency with SolidWorks; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

  • Experience in a machine shop environment
